THE SISTERHOOD BLOG
When my husband and I were dating, our favorite date spot was Olive Garden. We would usually go around lunch time and we would ALWAYS order endless soup and salad. I mean always. First, we were college students with no money, second it was delicious and third the word “endless” is the title. Need I say more? Obviously this was back in my pre-AIP days, but I still think about those soups. My favorite was the Zuppa Toscana. I loved how hearty and comforting that soup was with that “meat and potatoes” feel, but it also had a hint of
I have always been a coffee drinker at heart, but never really cared about the caffeine. I just loved the taste! Early on in my AIP days I used to go sit in coffee shops to do work just so I could smell the sweet, roasty aroma… Sounds crazy right? While I have accepted the fact that coffee doesn’t love me, I still miss that comforting morning cup. This herbal coffee has become my new morning obsession! The combination of roasted dandelion root and chicory tastes so much like coffee I was shocked. It has a robust, earthy taste with
Halloween is going to look differently this year – no trick-or-treating, parties, or gatherings – BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun! This creamy pumpkin soup is velvety and rich and the crunchy kale topping gives it a nice
I love lattes. As basic as that sounds, it’s true and I can’t deny it. I love the warm frothy milk, the hot tea, the slight sweetness… It’s like a hug for your insides. So when pumpkin spice season rolls around my inner basic-white-girl rejoices while wearing a plaid scarf and brown boots. Needless to say, when I found out about all of the toxic ingredients that are in a typical pumpkin spice latte early on in my AIP journey, my soul was crushed. So, I finally decided to stop pining away and make my own! Let me tell you,
Waffles or pancakes? To me the answer is obvious – it’s always waffles. They are just the superior breakfast treat. I’m sorry to disappoint you but it’s true. My husband and I have a tradition every Saturday morning of making these waffles, a big batch of bacon, coffee or tea and watching House Hunters International together. Honestly, this tradition is getting us through life at the moment… It’s the little things, am I right? Apple and cinnamon is such a classic combination. So, when you put it in a waffle the result is the ultimate fall comfort food. These waffles
