What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is a holistic, evidence-based, and bio-individual approach to balancing the body and reversing the negative effects of modern diet by way of a properly prepared, nutrient dense, whole foods diet coupled with a healthy lifestyle.

The Five Pillars of Health

As a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP), I believe that many of the health problems impacting people today are a result of an imbalance of the body’s five foundations: Digestion, Blood Sugar Regulation, Fatty Acid Balance, Mineral Balance, and Hydration. When these foundations are out of balance, the effects are felt everywhere resulting in symptoms such as digestive upset, immune dysregulation, hormonal imbalances or difficulty sleeping. By bringing them back into balance, allowing them to work optimally by eating a properly prepared, nutrient dense, whole foods diet and living a healthy lifestyle, the rest of the body can follow suit, allowing you to live your best life!

Unique to You

I don’t believe in a “one-size fits all” approach to nutrition. Instead, I view each person as unique, presenting with individualized nutritional requirements. Through in-depth consultation calls and nutrition-centered health coaching, together we can create a personalized, food-based approach unique to your body and lifestyle needs to help you meet your specific health goals.

As a FNTP I am trained to look at the function and dysfunction of each body system and the effect of food quality and preparation, environmental factors, emotional well-being, sleep, and movement on these systems.

By utilizing nutrition-centered health coaching, I can gather the information necessary to create a personalized, foods-based approach to help the you meet your specific health goals.
