Halloween is going to look differently this year – no trick-or-treating, parties, or gatherings – BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun! So, when the holiday is traditionally centered around candy how can you make it Autoimmune Protocol friendly? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with some of my favorite spooky activties!

- Have a Costume Contest
Rummage through old clothes, splurge on that costume you’ve been dying to buy, do a family-themed costume, dress up the dog! The possibilities are endless here. Host a little a friendly competition amongst your family or friends. You can even do this virtually! Make the prize something fun that everyone wants (like a gift card or a champion belt or endless bragging rights)
- Make a Spooky Treat
Make a whole host of your favorite AIP-friendly Halloween themed treats. Here’s are few of my favorites!
– Pumpkin Bread – AIP Sisterhood
– Dirt & Worms – Cook 2 Nourish
– Halloween Pumpkin Veggie Tray – The Produce Moms
– AIP Tzatziki Sauce (for dipping) – AIP Sisterhood
– Pumpkin Spice Latte – AIP Sisterhood
– Caramel Apples – The Paleo Mom
– Halloween Mini Meatloaves – Wendi’s AIP Kitchen - What Classic Halloween Movies
Whether you’re a horror movie fan or a Disney lover, there are Halloween classics in every genre. Gather around the big screen with your favorite AIP spooky treats and watch your favorite thrilling flick! Some of my favorites are “Young Frankenstein”, “Hocus Pocus”, and “Practical Magic.”
- Play Games
There are so many fun Halloween themed games to choose from here but these are a few of my favorites:
– Pin the Stem on the Pumpkin
– Wrap the Mummy toilet paper game
– Monster Walk (musical chairs but to “Monster Mash” by Bobby Pickett
– Pumpkin Carving Contest
